SecretWars. 20 artists. 2x4 foot canvas. 90 minutes.

That sums up SecretWars pretty much. A group of 20 artists battle it out in a qualifying round to get onto team dublin. We were given a canvas of 2x4 foot to display our kung fu in 90 minutes.

A bunch of the guys from college got together and we did what we do best. Got drunk and drew. I had a great time and I will definately be doing it again. I recommend this for a night out , even if you are just there to watch.

Unfortunately John had to leave sooner or later, so after a hungry mob of animation students (me being one of them) demanded pictures and signatures he set off into the sunset and for the wesht of the country.

Academy award winner, John Canemaker, ( http://homepages.nyu.edu/~jc7/ ) filmmaker, writer, animation historian, teacher and artist dropped into the college for the last two weeks and lectured. Nice guy. So that has been the highlight of the academic year so far. While in his lectures I doodled some charicatures of John. He gradually develops into a tortoise. Never showed him the drawings. I wonder if would he have been insulted.. Have a gander.

Food and water low. Moral even lower. I can hear to wolves in the distance. Howling. Mocking us. Watching and waiting for the next one of us to fall victim.. I do not fear too much though. It is not that I think I can outrun a wolf, but I know I can outrun Wilks and that's what really matters.

So this is my first ever blog so be gentle, although this whole thing is a bit egotistical as I have no entourage of ghouls to metaphorically suck my cock. Also I don't think anyone would be arsed to look at this thing. I'll probably get bored of this in about two weeks.

Oh yeah the above images are example layouts to be included in my production manual for my grad film. One image is the alley entrance to a kind of red light district where people get their kicks out of wearing clothes and the other is the actual red light district. The production manual is due in about seven days.
